For the first time in my life I went to a political election party. Ben Chandler gave a concession speech after nearly 20 years of public service. I’ve gotten to know Ben’s family pretty well over the last few years, particularly his cousin Erin (below). There is no doubt in my mind that the state has lost a valuable asset today, and I am surely troubled by that, but I think this may be what Ben needs to help him understand that his path is a bigger, more important path. He’s a good man, and a great public servent for the Commonwealth. I know what I’d like to see him do next. I bet his grandfather would approve of my idea.
