“I have a notion that if you are going to be spiritually curious, you better not get cluttered up with too many material things.” ~ Mary Oliver

fall

We’re blessed this year with a lasting fall. In its honor, Shero and I had a quick bite then it was off for an evening of music with oboist Titus Underwood. I didn’t know what to expect, but to my surprise, I was blown away by this guy. I’ve been enthralled with the oboe for decades, except I didn’t know what it was. I could only assume it was a kind of clarinet, though it didn’t sound like a clarinet. Of course it didn’t because it was an oboe! Underwood played the fire out of that thing, and he had more style than a bag of cats. Did I mention he’s the principal oboist for the Nashville Symphony? This guy is changing music in the best possible way.
