Last year, at the Oral History Association’s annual meeting, I enjoyed dining with Don and Anne Campbell Ritchie. We did it again this year along with colleagues Jen Bartlett and my dear, sweet, now old friend Andrew Prellwitz from Wisconsin. Andrew still looks like the young man I met 15 years ago, and he’s still every bit as sweet and kind as a human can possibly be. So, there we all were at the Thames Street Oyster House, hamming it up with two of America’s most delightful people. Listening to them talk about their adventures makes me long for retirement even more than I already do on a normal day. They’ve really got the right idea: keep moving, keep learning, keep travelling. I don’t know how I got so lucky to be surrounded by smart, funny, engaging people, but I’m sure glad to be here.
