Mom and dad have adopted an additional daughter. They pretty much adopted her on sight. Sheema Washington is dad’s caregiver. She helps out three days a week. She can get him to do stuff nobody else can. He remembers her every time he sees her even though he met her somewhat late in the game. In fact, he absolutely adores her. We all adore her – and did from the start. Sheema is one of the most patient and caring people I’ve ever known, and she takes as much care of mom as dad, helping around the house, making sure mom is taking care of herself (spousal caregivers have a very difficult situation). She dotes on the both of them, and even their dog Scrappy, like they’re family. She sure feels like family to us. We were extremely blessed to have Sheema drop into our lives when we really needed an angel. We could’t have asked for a better angel than Sheema. We love her and hope she stays in our lives from now on.
