“I never knew how strong I was until I had to forgive someone who wasn’t sorry, and accept an apology I never received.” ~ Unknown

mentors

I’ve been at UK Libraries for over 20 years now. Most of my mentors have retired in the last 6-8 years, but not all. I think the Universe is saving the best for last, to remind me that I have done a lot of great work for UK, and that I still have a lot of good to give. The Universe saw fit to recognize two of the few remaining mentors this week with awards. Not only are they professional mentors, Reinette Jones and Jennifer Bartlett are two of the finest people I have ever known, and it is a privilege to call them friends. I couldn’t be prouder of their big brains and hard work, and I wake up every day grateful to go to work beside them. They will never know how much they mean to me or the thousands of researchers they’ve helped along the way.
