“Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.” ~ Gilda Radner

Terry

It is long overdue that you meet Terry Lykins. Words fail to express what Terry has meant to my parents and me over the last 45 years. He was with us all the time throughout the 1970s and 1980s. If we could have added one other pallbearer, it would have been Terry because he’s as much family to me as my blood relatives. We don’t get to see one another nearly enough, which is why you’ve never seen him in the outhouse, but we tried to make up for it Saturday. At dad’s service, Terry told a great story about how he found out the house we lived in was haunted. It drew a lot of laughs (and, yes, the house was haunted). The amazing thing about Saturday was that it was as if none of us had ever been apart. Despite the years and miles between us, true friends pick up where we left off and go on as if no time has passed. Terry is very much like dad; he’ll do anything in the world for anybody who needs help and often asks for nothing in return. That’s just one reason I love him with all my heart.
