With Mom back in the hospital, her little dog Scrappy has been spending his days with Buddy and me. Scrappy is a grumpy old man, and he seems to think everything is his: the couch, Buddy’s treats, everything. Instead of fighting back, this sweet soul gladly shared his couch and the treats that were meant for himself, and he did so without complaint. All he wants is to be loved and accepted. He is so, so kind. A shining light. It just goes to show that some differences are worth working through. I’m glad I didn’t give up on him, or he on me.
