“For small creatures such as we the vastness is bearable only through love.”
~ Carl Sagan
Several weeks ago, when I photographed the People’s Bank downtown, I took a shortcut from Mill Street to Broadway and stumbled into the backyard of the Shambhala Meditation Center. I like the Shambhala CenterĀ a lot. Always have. The yard, which I had never seen before, is a peaceful setting in a very urban area. That’s not easy to do. This Buddha figurehead, however, was a little scary looking to me. There may be some significance to the more stern looking Buddha, and to the many hands – what I assume are hands – which make up the base. I’d like to learn more about them. I enjoy running into peaceful placesĀ like this.
