“If your nervous system could speak, it would ask you to spend more time with peaceful people, and to take longer walks.” ~ Yung Pueblo
This time next week, the Morgan County Sorghum Festival will have wound down after three days of heat, food, crafts, kids, a parade, the Sorghum Bowl, a new Sorghum Queen, and very tired feet. Anybody who doesn’t want to be in the middle of all that, which is just about everybody out in the county, will either leave for the weekend or do something like go to the Flea Market over at Greer or up to Caney to Roger Finch’s store for a fried bologna sandwich. And then there’s me: a woman with a camera and a need to hug the necks and snap the pics of the many people I love at all those places doing all those things. Unless it rains, in which case this woman and her camera will probably stay home. It’s really a win either way, as far as I can tell. Or maybe I’ll just go to Caney and sit on the porch with the dog.
