Just look at life with more playful eyes. Don’t be serious. Seriousness becomes like a blindness. Don’t pretend to be a thinker, a philosopher. Just simply be a human being. The whole world is showering its joy on you in so many ways, but if you are too serious, you cannot open your heart.” ~Osho

I just love impromptu adventures. First stop: Meadowthorpe Cafe with Stacy Yelton and Annie Bassoni. Famous for their burgers, I, of course, had breakfast. It didn’t disappoint, and come to find out, the owner is BFF Esther Edwards’ brother. Who knew! A few doors down at Goodwill I picked up a plethora of “prizes” for next week’s 30th High School Reunion. I foresee much laughter as these gems get handed out to the lucky few. While walking back to the car, from out of The Wild Fig Bookshop (one of Lexington’s coolest) springs Reinette Jones and Kathy Schifflett – surprise! For 10 minutes it was like old home week on the sidewalk. Then off we go to Keeneland because I just had to show Stacy Yelton Andrew Wyeth’s work; her favorite. I didn’t realize until we walked into the sales pavilion that neither woman had ever been to a horse sale. Suddenly, the artwork came second to everything else, as evidenced below when a colt by Dynaformer made his way onto the stage. We ended the day with some soft serve from Dairy Queen. It was a most excellent day with most excellent people. What a good life this is.
