This statue of the Virgin Mary faces the parking lot of the Catholic Newman Center. That parking lot butts up against an employee lot where many of us park or walk through to get to the other nearby lots. Sometimes, when there aren’t many cars, the statue grabs my attention, and when the light is just so, as it was here, I am drawn closer.  The mums at the foot, pretty as they are, seem a little… out of place. But maybe that’s just my twisted sense of humor.
