Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

the best
the best

This may be the most genuine smile I’ve managed to coax out of Laura Hall to date. Really, that’s giving myself too much credit. You see, today Laura was the recipient of the Dean’s Award of Excellence (in the box she’s holding). No one deserved it more, and I’m not alone in that thinking. She was nominated by Jen Bartlett, herself a fantastic person. These women are a lot alike. They’re giving of spirit to friends, colleagues, and strangers, and they always go above the call of duty. I couldn’t be more proud to be their friend. Congratulations, Laura. You deserve the award and so much more.
