There are many, many reasons why I love my mother but the following story perfectly illustrates how cool she is, too. For the first time in 35 or 40 years, she and dad gave me vinyl for Christmas, a white vinyl disc of McCartney III to be exact. The first words out of her mouth were, “Can we hear it?” She’s always been a Beatles and McCartney fan. So, we put it on!

Thus set the stage for an afternoon of games like Jenga, dad’s new game that he utterly hated as evidenced in the gif below, and more food than we could eat in one sitting. AT&T was out because of the Nashville bombing this morning, so we couldn’t call any friends or family. That was a setback for sure, but we three made the best of it. Christmas 55 is now in the books and it’s time to settle in for a long winter’s nap….and Sir Paul.
