good boy
Our good boy attended his second class of obedience school. I attended the second class of obedience school, too, and judging by the number of times I was called out for giving the wrong commands, I needed the school more than he did. Nevertheless, he is making great strides and has made friends a-plenty. The toughest thing to overcome is his age. He’s puppy-like because he’s not very old (maybe 15-18 months), but he’s not technically a puppy, so as his classmates, all puppies, pick up on the commands fairly quickly, our boy Pogo George Heybuddy has at least 13-16 months of unknown behaviour, his and whoever had him, to correct in addition to learning. Given all of that, he’s doing really well. I think he’d do better if I did better. But like Pogo George Heybuddy, I have my own bad habits to break. After all, I had the smartest dog on the planet for neigh on 18 years. My Sadie girl. She died in 2009. She needed no training. She just knew everything. She would have driven the car if she’d had opposable thumbs. Still, I’m not giving up on Pogo George Heybuddy. He shows great promise.
