Elder care is good work. It can be hard work. It can be emotional work. It can take energy you might not have. The one thing it is not is a waste of time. Ask anyone who has ever cared for an aging parent, and they will tell you it is the most fulfilling work you will ever do. I concur. I’m not great at it, though. I have to make myself notes all the time because I don’t even remember to get my own meds, let alone somebody else’s. Whatever it takes, I guess.
