“Live for the moments you can’t put into words.” ~ Unknown
The spring after Hero and Wally died, Crystal gave me a small pot of Forget-Me-Not. I planted it at the foot of Wally’s grave. It has bloomed every year, and this year, it has spread a considerable amount and looks fantastic in its bloomage. I offer a photo of it for today’s post because I’m heading out soon to photograph the Bach Choir, and I will no doubt be late and tired when I return this evening. I began photographing the Bach Choir way back in 2015. Doesn’t feel like it has been 11 years, but there it is, and I’m glad to say I’ve gotten better at photographing them (that’s the point, after all). We often skip a year, sometimes three, when Covid came along, and again when the choir looked to replace BFF Marlon Hurst as director. It’s a gorgeous day in The Bluegrass, so there should be a good turnout, but then, there always is. I’ve got the camera batteries charged, cards prepped, and gear in the bag. It’s time to take some pictures, and I’m especially grateful this year to BFF Crystal Heis, who will be helping me wrangle the cats for the group photo. Lord help me, what would I do without her? There’s not enough money in the world to pay her back for all she has done for me.
