Throwback to the beginning of the month with the UK gals at Shakertown. It was a cool day, unlike today, which was sweltering by comparison. It seems like so much has happened since that lunch. The Derby and the Preakness have both run. I’ve seen more live music in the last week than just about the whole of last year. I had just started phased retirement, and now I’ve got two full weeks under my belt. Including this lunch, I’ve had many valuable and sustaining conversations since these photos, and any hesitation I had about retirement, phased or full, has long since disappeared. It’s all the love I’ve been feeling from family and friends. I’ve said it once, and I’ll keep saying it: I am the luckiest woman on the planet; friends, family, parents, even my pets have been perfect for me.
