Elaine’s Iris

It seems this spring has been a fits-and-starts season for anything that blooms. My neighbor has a gorgeous Northern Magnolia. Its blooms had unfurled a single day when an early frost decimated them. This scene has repeated throughout the warming months. Today, my beautiful Elaine Heis Siberian Iris are struggling from a lack of water, with the issue most noticeable around their delicate edges. Or maybe it’s from another cold spell, hard to say since we keep having them. Whatever the case may be, they’re still gorgeous, and they always remind me that Mama Heis loves me.
