april showers
Five years ago, Becky Ryder and Gordon Hogg gave me a tiny seedling from their redbud. The little thing was hardly 12″ tall. It now stands over my head, and it would be taller if not for my yearly pruning. With every spring rain it grows a little more, becoming stronger, more mature, and more beautiful. My maple tree, below, towers over the little redbud, but not for long. Nature’s April showers will help even them up before long.
