“Stop shrinking yourself to fit places you’ve outgrown.” ~ Unknown

renewed friendships

Rolling back the calendar to last month’s Gallery Hop, I had two huge surprises when Jamie Lucke (above right) and John Snell (below) dropped by to see The 606. I had conversed with Jamie via email, but we hadn’t seen one another since I was still landscaping her yard in the late 1990s. I think I gave it up to work for Maggie Jacobs full-time on the farm, but in the 1990s, I had so many jobs (most at once) that they all run together at this point. In any case, I was absolutely bowled over to see her after all this time and meet her friend whose name I don’t remember (names have become a real challenge for me). Just a few minutes later, photographer John Snell walked in, and we had a wonderful time catching up. Also, way back in the 1990s, John and I were both involved with the Lexington Art League. I think we served on a committee together, but that’s easily been 25 years now, and, like names, remembering specific committees after that much time is not likely. What’s important, at least to me, is I remember these lovely souls and how grateful I am to know them and be in their company. That they enjoyed my work in the exhibit is a big bonus.
