“Be proud of who you are, of how hard you have worked, and all you have accomplished.” ~ Unknown

ace guitarist

Chuck Cox, killer flattop bluegrass guitarist turned oral historian, childhood friend to Doug Boyd, traveller of Eastern Kentucky backroads. I adored him immediately. We met Thursday (remember I said it was an awesome day). Doug and I were working with him when we had to leave briefly to attend another meeting. Chuck whipped out his guitar and entertained himself while we were away. I would have preferred to stay and listen to Chuck. Instead, he gave me a copy of his latest CD by “Cox’s Army.” The entire work was written by him, the packaging gorgeous, his guitar playing incredible. He isn’t your ordinary bluegrass picker. He stretches the boundaries, flawlessly weaving multiple musical influences into tradition. It’s as refreshing as he is. He made my day.
