Earlier this week they announced that Kennedy’s Bookstore was closing its doors after 67 years of serving UK students. Crystal, Marie and I went by at lunch. It was kinda sad to see it disheveled by the dozens of people pouring over the remains. Before long I found myself in the back staring at bare book shelves taking a walk down memory lane. I’ve bought and sold more books with them than I can remember. I hate to see them go, but I hope they’ll do well in whatever life holds next for them. Meanwhile, it’ll be fun to see what becomes “The Place” the next generations of UK students will fondly remember.
