Joyce Bliss had to go on despite a hard fight. Not a month ago, we talked about how much we wanted to see one another. Ten days ago, she was playing games and laughing. Looking back through the outhouse, I last saw Joyce in 2018 when we celebrated her birthday. This post’s photos were taken in 2015. I can hardly wrap my head around just how awful this year has been with the loss of some of the best people I have ever known. There have been some wonderful times this year, to be sure, but death has not been a stranger in my world. How lucky I was to be in Joyce’s world and that we shared so many wonderful times together. She gave me a best friend that changed my life, and I will always be grateful for that.
