St Leslie

For Christmas, Erin received a fabulous sainted candle of her friend, the late Leslie Jordan. He was one of the most positive, kind, hilariously funny people to walk the planet, and his passing in 2022 was untimely and sad, especially for Erin, who had been his collaborator and friend for decades. She adored Leslie and the gift, so she lit it immediately. If one uses the candle for worship, it is best to let it burn until it goes out on its own. No blowing or snuffing it out. As of this afternoon, it was still burning. Our prayers yesterday, with Leslie burning in the background, were for each other, our world, humanity, and ourselves. 2023 will go down as one of the most surreal years in my life, and there are many in my circle who had similar experiences, including the Happiness gals. But that’s life, eh? Nobody said it would always be roses. So, in the last week, I’ve gorged myself on chocolate, gained all my weight back, and slept until I woke up naturally instead of by a wretched clock (an instrument of Satan nearly as wicked as social media). I feel rejuvenated and ready to ring in a new year full of promise and possibility. On this last post of the outhouse’s twelfth year (that’s right – 12 years!), I wish each and every one of you the most abundant, joyous 2024 that can be. May peace and harmony follow your every step, and kindness rain down upon you like sunshine on a cloudless day. Thank you for walking my journey with me all these years. Here’s to more!
