The only real disadvantage in being located in a building apart from Crystal – besides the lack of constant laughter – is missing out on her famous banana bread. Made with off-brand Bisquick and other things from time to time, such as coconut or chocolate, I tip my hat to the banana bread queen. As such, she receives my bananas when deemed too ripe. I can be a picky eater (ask anyone who’s ever dined with me). I need my bananas just so; like right after they’ve turned yellow with a hint of green still evident. On the other hand, very ripe bananas make the best flavor in bread. That’s too ripe for me, so it’s a win-win, except that I don’t get any bread. But Crystal does, and she’s worth all the over-ripe bananas I will ever have.
