Nothing will bring people out of their offices faster than a baby, and absolutely nothing will make women cluck like happy hens more than a newborn on first sight (purposely obstructed in this photo). Co-worker Sarah Dorpinghaus brought her beautiful newborn daughter Ozio into the office for the first time. Naturally, I love her name. It is unique, and it will give her a kind of singularity in a world of common names. She is truly a beautiful child, and I was struck by how much happiness she brought to an entire building of people, and not just women, mind you. Babies and puppies will turn the bruskest man into a softie. The juxtaposition with yesterday’s reflection was not lost on me, encapsulating perfectly the cycle of life. There is beauty in all of it, and there is always a new beginning.
