“Appreciate those who don’t give up on you.” ~ Unknown

sundown

As January comes to a close I reflect on what it has brought. Renewal, hope, fear death, sunshine, snow…and more snow. A month like many others, sure, but there’s been something different about this January. Three of my friends have lost their mothers in the last six weeks while I have been granted the gift of a recovering father. My grieving friends have not wallowed in self-pity, at least not around me. Rather, they’ve offered consolation as they watched me traverse rough waters of my own. They have shown me how to help others when it’s my inevitable turn. I am beyond grateful for them, their friendship, their openness, their vulnerability. February ushers more light and goodness into the world. May it be so far all of us especially those who have lost so very much.

Beautiful! Prayers for your friends. Loosing a parent is one of the hardest things in life to deal with but God gives us the strength & peace. ❤️ Great picture.
