I keep a Valentine on my desk at work. Lance Hughes was a special Valentine to many, and he helps each of us in any number of ways. Lance serves to remind me that I am loved; that whatever political or business brouhaha walks through my door is small potatoes in the grand scheme of life; that true living happens outside the confines of the office, outside the house, sometimes outside my own mind.
