My day didn’t go as originally planned, but it went the way it needed to, and I was alright with that because Shero and I, for the first time in over two years, had ourselves a meal outside the house. She had a doctor’s appointment this morning in the ice (yes, we had ice last night), so I chauffeured to be sure all went well, then we snuck off to Waffle House. You would have thought we were out for a five-star meal. I even had coffee, which I don’t drink much of these days having switched to tea some months ago. It wasn’t what we planned but it was just what the doctor ordered. It turns out that not all ice storms are bad after all.
