There are two public entrances into the library. One has the Nation of Nations panels by Marjorie Guyon that I’ve mentioned before, and the other has this raised marble plateau, or island, if you will. You can sit on it (be warned, it’s cold). You can sleep on it (good luck with that). You can lunch on it (not that you’d want to). You can skate on it (if you dare try). It’s covered in the same marble that’s on the floor. The doors are symmetrical. There’s nothing on the eggshell walls. The whole entryway is symmetrical, really. There’s beauty in symmetry. Just look at the wings of a butterfly sometime.
