I grabbed two of the people who love me and off we went for a short Sunday drive. We took a slow ride down Pisgah Pike, waving at the equine babies frolicking in the sunny fields along the way. We had ice cream, a tour of Downtown Versailles (I waved at Mark and Erin as I drove by their house, though I’m certain they did not see me), talked hands-free to aunts Lois and Mabel from Florida (like having them in the car with us), took backroads we didn’t know and came home with plenty of sunshine to spare. It was dad’s first time out of the house that didn’t involve a hospital. That alone was cause for celebration. A good time was had by all. Enjoy a short ride with us.
