This guy right here is the toughest man you’ll ever meet. He’s tough in body. He’s tough in mind. He’s tough in spirit. He was born that way. He was also born the most tenderhearted man on this Earth. Not everyone knows that about him, but it’s true. I’ve watched it manifest in every imaginable way for over fifty years. When I was eighteen his mother asked me when I would marry. When I was 33 she asked why I still had not. “Because I’ve never found anyone as good as my father,” I said. She never asked again. My grandmother asked the same of my younger cousin Lisa. Her father is dad’s brother, Darrell. Lisa gave the same answer as I. Our grandmother never asked again.
