“A meaningful life is not about material gain, power or fame; these are only of passing value. True meaning comes from an inner sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be based on a sense of caring and love for others. So, in order to lead a meaningful life, it is important to cultivate a genuine sense of love and compassion for others, and to develop a concern for their well-being.” ~ Dalai Lama

fog

Every once in a while, Lexington reminds me of London with a low, cold fog that lasts the whole day. Such a foggy time usually precipitates a nasty ice event, which Central Kentucky has seemingly become prone to since the 1990s. We are expecting ice, sleet, and snow overnight. We’ll see just how much or how little we actually get of any of it when morning dawns, but I, for one, rather enjoy the fog. I call it my latent British gene. I seem to function my best when it’s gloomy and drizzly, and hey, add in some fog, and I’m happy as a pig in poop (this is a family show). Ya’ll stay warm and safe out there.
