“Men, if you are over 50, leave the young girls alone and find a woman who understands the signs of a stroke.” ~ Unknown

spring

I began noticing a cluster of green patches among the grass dust as I crossed the Mission San José grounds. Curious, I stepped closer to one patch and found a tiny puddle of water bubbling from the ground. You can see these few green patches below. Not all had water surfacing like the photo above, but it must have been close enough to dampen the soil and give life to delicate greenery. Springs were the last thing I expected to see, but if I were on the hunt for a suitable place to live, fresh spring water would have been as attractive in the 1700s as a two-bed, two-bath house with central heat and air is today. I’d be interested in learning more about the geology of the area.
