I was alone in Mission Concepción as I turned a corner and found myself here. It was, and is, one of the most sublime compositions, supremely peaceful. The stairway to heaven, to be metaphorically rock and roll about it, though I don’t think a real stairway to heaven would be locked. If I’d not been with a group, I would have stayed longer to soak up the stillness.
