“We live in the same town and we still drove 90 miles to see you,” Meg laughed. Or she said something close to that. Anyway, it’s true. Meg, Robin, and I all live in Lexington, and Robin’s sister, Sarah, is there a lot. And yet, they showed up at the artist reception in West Liberty on Thursday to support me and my work, support the art initiative of the Wellness Center, and enjoy images from our little corner of the Appalachian Mountains that we all grew up in and love beyond measure. More than that, these three have been exceedingly kind and supportive of me through Shero’s passing. Robin has checked on me periodically, and such a simple act carries incredible support you don’t know you need until you receive it. I am indebted to their kindness and forever grateful for their friendship. I am so very blessed with the best people in my life. Meg swore we’d get together in Lexington before they left. I’m going to hold them to it.
