“You can often change your circumstances by changing your attitude.” ~ Unknown

Robin was at the reception last night, but bright and early this morning, she headed to Lexington to help me with the yard sale. We started a little late by Lexington yard sale standards; nevertheless, we made great progress, enough that we called it at 3:30 pm, went for dinner, then came back and moved stuff to the “free curb,” as I call it. In between, we met some…. interesting people, talked a lot, she met all the neighbors, sorted out some logistics, and laughed. It’s what we do best. At dinner, we were chatting with the waitress, and Robin told her she remembers meeting me when I was 15. I was probably dating her brother, Kenny, at the time, or playing on one of West Liberty’s women’s ball teams. Or maybe something else; I don’t recall, but then, that was nearly 50 years ago, and seeing as how I can’t remember what I had for breakfast most days, whatever she remembers would be true. We used to do stuff and were speedy at it. Now we take longer because her back and knees hurt and my feet nearly cripple me after a few hours, but we still manage to laugh. Me and this ‘ol gal have been through a lot together in 50 years, and I wouldn’t trade a minute of it. Not even the aching feet.
