“Everyone needs a place to retreat; a spot where the world grows quiet enough for the soul to speak.” ~ Angie Weiland-Crosby

still here

The Henry Clay Law Office sits beside First Presbyterian downtown on Mill Street. It has recently become the possession of the Henry Clay Estate, and they’re in the final planning phase of opening it to the public. Tonight, the Blue Grass Trust’s deTour offered a sneak peek at this hidden gem. Henry Clay once had a house across the street (now a parking lot), and there were other known locations in Lexington where he had an office, but this little building is the only one left standing. It’s also the building from whence he defended Aaron Burr against charges of treason, charges he later regretted defending. Of course, for fun, we had to do the Ko selfie with executive director Jonathan Coleman who had not heard of or seen the last selfie we did that we’re all still talking about. We didn’t have to photoshop Jackson Osborne into this one, though.
