“Stop expecting you from other people.” ~ Unknown
My goodness, what a day! An 8 AM flash flood not only flooded the city and campus in places I’ve never seen flood before, but it also found a new way through my roof, creating an unwanted water feature in the back bedroom. Of course, everything in the house is like a Jenga puzzle right now, what with taking in Hero and Shero’s stuff so I can get their house sold, so dealing with water pouring through the ceiling and down the wall isn’t as easy as it should be. I had boxes upon boxes of papers stored in the attic space where the water was coming in, but lo, once again I am the blessed gal for the leak was beside the last box, and none of it was wet. Thanks be to God. Still, I pulled them all out. They’re still in the master bedroom hall. I had a scan appointment this afternoon across campus. The morning rains did nothing to squelch the humidity. If anything, it made it worse. Nevertheless, I had the chance to see more blue balls along the Alumni Commons, where Rose Street used to be. I’m sure they meant well with the blue balls, but the jokes make themselves. I’ll just leave it at that. All in all, it was still a good day. I got a lot done at home and at work, and the Robin Dalton Memorial Garden got plenty of rain. I’m good with that.
