“A line is a dot that went for a walk.” ~ Paul Klee

friend market

I woke up hungry this morning, which hardly ever happens. I called Stacy, and off we went to Winchell’s for Lexington’s best breakfast. Sunday is Farmer’s Market day in Southland, and to settle the French toast and way-too-much bacon, we took a stroll between the tents. Then I hear a voice that sounds like it’s saying my name over and over again. The syrupy goodness had gone to my head and dazed me, I guess. Finally, I see Chris and Cassie!  It was great to run into them, and I’d only ever had the opportunity to meet Cassie once before in a very brief encounter when we rehearsed in their garage. She was busy with small children, so we had no time to connect. We did today, though, and it was utterly delightful. Chris and Cassie love their kids, so running into them on Father’s Day was a wonderful reminder that good dads exist. Even if mine isn’t here to go on an adventure with me, it does my heart good to see dads like Chris appreciated. Winchell’s was full of kids, mothers, and fathers this morning, too. Here’s to great dads everywhere. I hope you’ve all felt appreciated today and every day.
