“Hold fast to what is good and right. Leave your brother in better shape than when you met ‘em. Giving forgiveness feels as good as getting it. And some dogs are angels.” ~ Lester Hall

Yesterday, in between trips in and out of the garage, I spotted two friends on the porch. Mr. Mantis looked as curious about me as I was about him. He indulged me and held still. Meanwhile, my little Carolina Wren who, with his spouse, has taken up residence in my hanging geranium, quarrelled at me even after I went inside. You should hear him when I try to water the geranium. You would think it was full of babies (I assure you, it is not). His little wife sits quietly in the nearby smoke tree while he tells me what for over and over and over again. This is the first Carolina Wrrens I’ve seen in Lexington, so I’m especially happy they chose to stay with me. I’m thinking of building them a little wren house and putting it on the porch post, hoping they stay and I get the geranium back. Will it work?
