This weekend was supposed to be Kentucky Crafted: The Market. It is the annual juried art show sponsored by the Kentucky Arts Council. The first day is set aside to boost wholesale awareness, and the following two days are open to the public. There’s so much great art at this show. Of course, due to the corona virus and “social distancing” that’s been strongly encouraged to prevent further spread, The Market was cancelled. It was a pity for the public, but it’s devastating for the artists. Many, if not all, of those folks rely on such shows, especially this one with it’s wholesale component, for a good chunk of their yearly income. I have a lot of very good friends who’ve been severely crushed by this sudden turn, and one of those is BFF Deb Chenault. The photo above is some of the beautiful jewelry she’s made that now live at my house. Her jewelry is always a gift favorite, too. She’s got a brand new website under construction 12thhousedesigns.com You might not be able to order through it just yet (it’s that new), but if you’re seriously interested in seeing some of her work before the website is finished, let me know. I’ll hook you up.
