“We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.” ~ Marcos Alvarado

Well…. we started out rough but warmed up eventually to play to a pleased crowd. The best comment of the night came from a seriously drunk guy at the bar who, at the end of the night, yelled, “I’ll believe in God if you play one more.” I’ve heard a lot of encore-speak, but that one made me laugh out loud. There were many familiar faces last night. People I had seen in the audience 35 years ago when I was just a kid playing bars I wasn’t legally old enough to get into. I don’t remember their names, but I recognize them in the aged conditions. A few even spoke to me because they recognized me, too. It felt good. It was a long day, and we sure didn’t play as best we could, but I would do it all again. I can’t tell you how much it does my heart good to play some rock and roll tunes with these guys. They’re genuine people and players, and I’m super lucky to get to play with them.
