This was Wally’s big adventure in the woods with his friend, Crackerjack, the dog responsible for dad’s near demise. Wally has an excellent nose. While Crackerjack was all about digging and chasing, Wally was methodical in his hunting, keeping his nose to the ground and quietly following the scent. His short, little legs are a bit of a hindrance, however. The steep hills proved a challenge; felled logs even more so. That didn’t stop the mighty hunter from feeling totally alive and happy as a dog can be. Yesterday was National Puppy Day. Wally says, “Happy belated Puppy Day.”
