“Big journeys begin with small steps.” ~ Unknown

old friends and smiles

I’ve been sitting on this, but it’s official now. The job I’m doing at the Nunn Center is now a faculty position. Mine is hardly the trek most people take, but I’ve always walked my own road. I’m good with that. It’s preferred. Not a whole lot will change right away, but I look forward to using my noggin a little more than exhausting my energy all the time. The appointment starts April 1, coincidentally (or not), the anniversary of my start date at the University of Kentucky 21 years ago. If you had ever told me I’d work anywhere for 21 years when I was young I would have said you were crazy, least of all at an office job at my alma mater. Well, whatever the case, I’m thankful for the job and the opportunities it has brought me. I’ve made some lifelong friends along the way, too. What’s not to love about that?

Glad you’re happy! Geez—haven’t laid eyes on you in YEARS! Where are you hiding?!

Of course, there will be some wistful feelings about leaving, but wow, what an opportunity for a new adventure. I am sure you will make the most of it. Rock on!
