“In the end, people will judge you anyway. So don’t live your life impressing others. Live your life impressing yourself.” ~ Eunice Camacho Infante

1982

This blast from the past appeared in my mailbox today courtesy of sister-cousin Stanya Franklin Terrell. This was probably 1982 and taken in the Yearbook darkroom at the old Morgan County High School. Tike Franklin Carpenter, who passed unexpectedly two weeks ago, was the youngest of us four. Greg Daniel (sunglasses), Tim Lykins, and I were seniors, so this photo is just about 40 years old now. That explains why I’m so achy lately. Anyway, I think this was either the photo we used as the yearbook photographer’s photo, or it was an outtake of that same shoot. The four of us had such a good time together, and it’s really kind of hard to believe 40 years have passed because it just doesn’t feel that long ago that we were all hanging out at high school or a sports event or the Freezer Fresh or mom and dad’s house. I’m blessed to have such great memories of that time in life, and certainly blessed to have had such wonderful friends as these.
