“You look in the mirror and sometimes see a mess of a human being. But you don’t see the lives you’ve touched, or the people you’ve saved. You don’t see all the love you’ve given freely, or the extraordinary memories you’ve made. You are a book of beautiful moments and feelings.” ~ TinyBuddha

Road trip last weekend. I hadn’t been through Nashville in quite a few years, and boy howdy, was I in for a surprise. Just from the Interstate, it was unrecognizable. I had always loved Nashville, in part because downtown had somehow managed to retain a quaint country feel despite the big music machine money. It doesn’t look like that anymore. Glass and steel towering over anything remotely quaint, whatever of it that’s left that is. Plus the traffic was atrocious, and coming from me, that’s saying something. Such a pity. Still, I have fond memories of it from the 1980s, and that’s a nice thing to hang on to.
