Last year, one of our partners, Rebecca Freihaut, PhD, reached completion of her oral history project. Unexpectedly, I received this charm a few weeks later. It’s small and simple, and it is one of the nicest things anyone has given me. I look at it occasionally to remind myself that what I do matters to the people who depend on me to take care of their hard work and usher it through a system that will make them shine. Many don’t even know me, but some of them, like Rebecca, do. I’m glad I could help her.
