Mother’s Day 2024

Me and Shero hit the road early this Mother’s Day morning. First stop: church. It was a new church for me, but Mom had been there several times. It’s small, nearby, and very reminiscent of the church back home, so it was quite comfortable, and everyone was welcoming and kind. We snuck out early and headed to Shakertown for Mother’s Day dinner. I thought our plans were dashed when I found they were sold out, but their last-minute email told me otherwise. Our timing was perfect: we walked in, sat down, and had one of my best meals there. Then, we walked over to the barn to see all the babies. The weather was beyond perfect, the sun felt so warm, and the little fur babies were just so, so, so sweet. It really made Mom’s day to hear their little kid sounds, and it made my day to be with her for another Mother’s Day. She didn’t feel good, but she was determined to go out. That’s why she’s my Shero and I am extremely grateful for this day.
