“Love is never wasted, for its value does not rest on reciprocity.” ~ C.S. Lewis
We had Mother’s Day dinner Friday, so today was Mother’s Day breakfast at our favorite Winchell’s with Stacy (we missed you, Sharon). As a bonus, the Farmer’s Market was open just outside, so we went for some fresh veg. We came across these young men playing some tunes. The gentleman in blue reminded mom and me of her dad. He was a guitar and banjo player who looked much like this guy. She made a contribution and thanked them for their service. It was sweet. We did a few other things throughout the day – after my five-hour nap (does that count as a nap?) – and all of it added up to a wonderful day together. I’m so grateful for and to my mother and everything she has done for our family over the decades.
